FOXO4-DRI, also referred to as Proxofim, is a synthetic peptide made from a modified structure and a portion of the FOXO4 protein. The change lengthens the protein’s half-life and allows it to interfere with normal FOXO4 function. Studies have shown that FOXO4-DRI prevents normal FOXO4 binding to p53, enabling the removal of senescent cells, improved organ function, and a younger “biological age” for the tissue.
Mechanism of Action
In experimental systems, FOXO4-DRI may disrupt the connection between FOXO4 and p53. This disturbance may change p53’s location and activity in controlled laboratory settings. Signaling pathways involved in cell cycle regulation and cellular stress responses are linked to these alterations.
