Epithalon (Nasal Spray) – Product Details
Epithalon, also called Epitalon or Epithalone, is a synthetic tetrapeptide composed of four amino acids: Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG). It was developed based on the amino acid composition of Epithalamin, a peptide complex derived from the pineal gland. Studies indicate that it may influence cellular processes such as telomere length regulation, DNA repair, and enzyme activity, including telomerase, under experimental conditions.
Research also shows that Epithalon can affect mitochondrial function and energy metabolism in cell models. It has been linked to reductions in oxidative stress, protection of mitochondrial DNA, and modulation of gene expression related to energy balance. These observations highlight its potential to support cellular homeostasis and investigate mechanisms of aging in experimental systems.
Working Mechanism of Epithalon
In research, Epithalon is studied for its effects on cellular aging. It can increase telomerase activity and help maintain telomere length in cell models. Telomeres are protective DNA caps that shorten with cell division. Epithalon also reduces oxidative stress by lowering reactive oxygen species in experimental systems. These actions are studied as ways to support cellular stability and molecular health in research settings.

Research Findings
Studies have shown that Epithalon can influence telomere length and telomerase activity in cultured cells. In experiments with human cell lines, treatment with the tetrapeptide was associated with increased expression of the telomerase catalytic subunit (hTERT) and higher telomerase enzyme activity. These changes were linked with measurable extension of telomere length in both normal and cancer cell models, suggesting that Epithalon may affect cellular mechanisms involved in maintaining chromosome end stability under experimental conditions.
Another research has examined how Epithalon’s antioxidant properties affect cells exposed to stress. In in vitro models of high glucose–induced damage, the peptide showed the ability to reduce oxidative stress markers and support cellular wound healing processes. While this study focused on retinal cells under experimental stress, it highlights how Epithalon may modulate reactive oxygen species and gene expression related to stress responses in research conditions.
Note: Epithalon is not approved by the FDA for medical use. It is available for research purposes only.
